Wreckage — This Friday’s Song

This Friday’s Song is “Wreckage” by Nate Smith. This song will appear on his new self-titled album which is expected in April. I shared another one of his songs, “I Found You” back in October. Smith gravely voice and emotive style are really featured in this song.

This song really spoke to me when I first heard it. I went through a very hard period during my divorce almost 20 years ago. Afterwards I was broken. It was hard to imagine ever loving or trusting someone like that again. But God took pity on a broken soul and brought Teresa into my life. She saw through the damage and pain and taught me how to trust, how to love again.

You put all the shattered pieces back together, made them better
You saw what I could be through all the pain…

I’m a little damaged, but damn you saw the good
When everyone saw baggage, you loved when no one could, yeah
