My wife usually doesn’t like to watch older shows except for the Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, and Friends. The other night she picked the Scottish crime drama, Taggart, which debuted in 1983.
We started with season 1 which introduced the main character Detective Chief Inspector Jim Taggart played by Mark McManus, a tough and experienced detective who had worked his way up through the ranks. He is partnered with Detective Sergeant Peter Livingstone (Neil Duncan) who is a new breed of young graduates entering the police force. This leads to an interesting dynamic between the two.
The Glasgow setting is gritty and realistic. The show had a long run so we will be watching for a bit
