This Friday’s song is “The Breath You Take” by George Strait. This song was released in July 2010. It was the fourth single from Strait’s album Twang which is one of my favorites. It was written by Dean Dillon, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Casey Beathard. I have shared the official audio track and Strait’s performance at the CMA Awards in 2010.
When this song was released, we were living in the Hammock house in the Florida Keys. I was enjoying life in the tropics, Ryan was doing well, and I was trying to work up the courage to ask Teresa if she would marry me. The company I started after moving to Florida was growing well and we were working on several cool projects. When I think back, there were so many moments that really did “take my breath away.”
I have been in a reflective mood for the past few weeks. Not really down, but lots of things seem challenging. This song is a great reminder of what is truly important in life and how your own awareness of that will shape the world around you.
Hope you enjoy “The Breath You Take” by George Strait.
