St. James Infirmary Blues — This Friday’s Song

Discovered this version of “St. James Infirmary Blues” by Hopetoun Brown while I was learning more about Tami Neilson. She is featured in this version along with Finn Scholes and Kingsley Melhuish. Hopetoun Brown is a two-piece hip-hop soul band from New Zealand featuring trumpet and bass-clarinet. Tim Stewart and Nick Atkinson, who have been playing together since their teens, use just voice, trumpet, trombone, percussion and bass clarinet to perform a wide range including soul, jazz, blues and electricity-free hip-hop.

You may know this song which has been performed by Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway, and many others. These great performers from New Zealand did an awesome job with it.

Hope you enjoy this Friday’s song “St. James Infirmary Blues” by Hopetoun Brown.
