Date Night at Lucilla May 23

Relaxed May Date Night at Lucilla

Teresa and I made a return visit to Lucilla Tallahassee for our May “date night.” We were actually supposed to go a few weeks ago for Mother’s Day, but I was fighting a nasty sinus infection that weekend. Joseph Richardson graciously rescheduled our reservation for us.

There were no specials, so we went with some dishes we had on prior visits and really enjoyed. We started with the crispy fried oysters which are served with a creole aioli-datil pepper cocktail sauce and a champagne mignonette. They serve eight of these. They were cooked perfectly. We then had the cast iron seared filet mignon. This was done medium-rare as we requested and came with whipped potatoes, asparagus, wild mushrooms, and the house steak sauce. For dessert, Teresa had her new favorite, the meyer lemon crème brûlée. I decided to try the brioche bread pudding which was just awesome.

We want to thank Joseph and all the staff members at Lucilla for a great meal and very relaxed “date night.”
