Our latest find on Acorn TV is No Offence, a British police procedural set in Manchester. It follows a team of detectives working on a different major case across each season (series as the British call them). It is a mix of both drama and comedy. It features three strong female leads in the cast led by Joanna Scanlan as Detective Inspector Viv Deering. The storylines are fast-paced, gritty and irreverent in tone. Some of the humor can be a bit over the top and may offend some viewers.
The stories and the cast performances in No Offence definitely pull you in. Teresa and I both felt ourselves pulling for the characters. We have just about finished the first series and I expect we will watch the next two as well.
