How You Make A Man

This Friday’s song is “How You Make a Man” by Craig Morgan. This song was released this past August and is included in a new deluxe edition of Morgan’s 2020 album God, Family, Country. that was just released this month. We don’t have many of Morgan’s songs in our playlists, but we are exploring since we first heard “The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost” earlier this year.

I have been taking some time to reflect over the long Thanksgiving weekend. As I think about what I am most grateful for in my life today, I realize how some of the hardest and most painful experiences in my life helped to shape me and make all of that possible. I thought this song says it much better than I ever could.

It’s the good days, bad days, goodbye heartbreaks
Tail lights fading ’cause you didn’t say enough
The loss and the tears and the laughs and the beers
The wars you fight, the ones you walk away from
You run, you crawl, you rise, you fall
You hit your knees ’til you learn to stand
Yeah, that’s how you make a man

Morgan has one of the most emotive voices in country today. He tells a story with every song. Not everyone will like his vocal style, but some of his songs will appeal to almost any country fan. Hope you can take a few minutes on this holiday weekend to enjoy “How You Make A Man” by Craig Morgan.
