We enjoyed a wonderful evening out last night at Savour Tallahassee. This was our monthly "date night" and an early New Year's Eve celebration. We want to thank our server Sam, the chef, owners Drew and Kim McLeod, and the entire staff at Savour for preparing such a great meal. It was a very romantic, satisfying , and relaxing way to wrap up the year.
One more food "share" for the holiday. My wife Teresa used the leftover "mojo pork" "from our Christmas Eve dinner to make me one of our holiday traditions, a sándwich cubano. I am one very lucky man.
We are celebrating our fifth Christmas in Tallahassee this year. This year, I must have been an especially good boy because "Santa" made me a mincemeat pie. From our family to yours, we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year!
It got pretty chilly here in Tallahassee this week. We decided that we wanted to have something "warm and hearty" for our November date night. We visited Lucillia for the first time back in August. We had a great meal and there were a lot of other dishes on the menu that caught our interest. Their big flavors and creative "comfort food" seemed like the perfect match for what we wanted.
We decided to swing by Crumbl Cookies on Mahan today to check out the Pumpkin Cake, Hazelnut Sea Salt, and Apple Pie flavors. Had tastes of the first two today when we brought them home. Awesome!
Finally catching up on journaling and wanted to share a great night out we had back in September. The weather had cooled off and I thought it would be nice to have our dinner "alfresco." When I looked for options, I came across Z Bardhi's Italian Cuisine which is located near the entrance to the Killearn Lakes subdivision north of Tallahassee. It seemed the perfect setting for our September "date night."
Made our second visit to J's Asian Street Food on Friday. We both had had a long week and wanted something simple and relaxing. We had some interesting new dishes. We left satiated and relaxed.
Lucilla has been on our “try it” list for quite a while. They specialize in New American cuisine that blends southern traditions with contemporary elements to create some very unique dishes. I was in the mood to try someplace new for our August date night and decided it was time for us to visit.
The Huntsman Tallahassee recently opened. A number of folks from the Tallahassee Foodies group have recommended it. We had a great meal. The Huntsman is definitely one of Tallahassee's new "hot spots."
We decided we wanted to try someplace new for the holiday weekend. We were not in the mood for a heavy meal and decided we would try someplace that did "small" bites. We've had J's Asian Street Food on our list since just after it opened and decided to swing by.
My wife Teresa took me for an early Father's Day dinner at Il Lusso. It is an Italian steakhouse in downtown Tallahassee. We hadn't been there for a while and I was in the mood for a good steak.
One of the things we were missing from our time in Miami was a great tapas bar. We checked out the new Casa Tapas and Cantina here in Tallahassee last night and it was fabulous!
