Our most recent find was Five Star Chefs on Netflix. This is a cooking competition where seven professional chefs compete to bring their fine-dining concept to the historic Palm Court restaurant at London’s luxurious Langham Hotel. The winner gets a big prize: the head chef position at Palm Court. The judges include Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux, restaurateur Mike Reid, and pastry chef Ravneet Gill.
Five Star Chefs has six episodes. The contestants each have a unique concept that they use to craft their offering in each episode. The “challenges” represent real-world situations the person running the Palm Court will face. We liked most of the contestants and were pretty impressed with their creations. We recommend it if you like these types of shows. This one is a bit different. You may or may not agree with the results.
