This Friday’s song is “Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes” by Jimmy Buffett. This was the title song of Buffett’s seventh studio album which was released in January 1977. The song was released as a single that August. This album, which also featured “Margaritaville” was Buffett’s breakthrough and still best-selling album.
There are not many good live performance videos available, so I chose the version from Buffett’s Songs You Know By Heart album which was released in 1985. This was his first “greatest hits” album and was the first Buffett album I ever bought. This CD got a lot of use whenever I was in the Keys or sitting the the cold in Boston wanting to hop on a plane south.
I picked this song because it is one of my favorite songs and because Teresa and I are on “island time” this weekend on a long overdue vacation on Amelia Island. I am sure we will be playing it more than once. Hope you enjoy “Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes” by Jimmy Buffett.
